Retirement is only one life transition. Illness, injury, caring responsibilities, redundancy, divorce, ageing parents, aged care and unexpected opportunities can all affect the flow of income through your life.
At The Income Edit, we start with income rather than products.
We work backwards from the life you want to live and match your income needs with appropriate income sources. That may include work, investments, superannuation, lifetime income streams, government benefits, insurance or a combination of many different resources.
The goal isn't only to build wealth.
The goal is to create reliable income that can support you through life's transitions.

Life rarely follows a straight line.
Markets fall. Health fails. Careers change. People live longer than expected. Aged care needs emerge. Families need support.
Our planning process is designed to help identify which risks matter most and determine the most appropriate way to manage them.
Sometimes that means protecting income through insurance.
Sometimes it means transferring longevity risk to an insurer through a lifetime income stream.
Sometimes it means structuring investments differently.
Sometimes it means planning for Centrelink, aged care or estate outcomes before they become urgent.
The objective is not to eliminate uncertainty.
The objective is to build a financial system that can adapt when circumstances change.

Most investment discussions start with risk profiles.
We start with purpose.
Different money has different jobs.
The money required to pay the electricity bill in retirement should not necessarily be invested the same way as money intended for future aged care costs, family support or a legacy.
We match investments to the role they need to perform within your broader income system.
That may include shares, property, cash, superannuation, government benefits, business interests, lifestyle assets or lifetime income solutions.
The objective is not to force every client into the same investment philosophy.
The objective is to find the investments that best support your goals, values, preferences and income needs.

Many people assume financial advice is only for wealthy Australians or that everyone needs a comprehensive financial plan.
That isn't how we work.
Some clients need a few hours of support to help solve a specific problem.
Others want strategic guidance and are comfortable implementing decisions themselves.
Others require limited-scope personal advice or comprehensive ongoing support.
The level of service is determined by the complexity of the problem being solved, which means clients have significant influence over the scope of work and the fees involved.
Where appropriate, some advice fees may be paid from superannuation and insurance commissions may contribute to implementation costs when insurance advice is provided, with all remuneration fully disclosed.
Our goal is simple: provide an appropriate level of advice, explain the costs clearly and help you determine whether the value is worthwhile for you.
